5^th Annual First Riders

The 5^th annual First Riders event took place on August 24, 2010 at Northlands Park. The event is hosted by Edmonton Public Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools and Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord, along with five yellow school bus contractors and Edmonton Transit. First Riders provides an opportunity for children and their parents to learn about safe school bus practices and the important role parent’s play, not only on the bus, but on the trip to and from the bus stop each day.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day

May 18, 2010 marked our annual Bus Driver Appreciation Day. This day is set aside every year to recognize the safe and caring efforts our school bus drivers provide by transporting approximately 25,000 children to and from district schools each day. The Student Transportation departments of Edmonton Public Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools and Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord honoured bus drivers by hosting a special reception to celebrate the occasion. We'd like to express a sincere thank you to all school bus drivers for the challenging work they do each day getting our students to school safely, on time and ready to learn.
