Other Types
Carpooling
Edmonton Public Schools supports carpooling as alternative method of transportation. This is both an environmental and economical way to get students to and from school. It also reduces congestion in school zones. This not only increases safety in drop-off and pick-up areas, but can also alleviate pressure on neighbouring residents and businesses resulting from school traffic.

Kid-powered
Edmonton Public Schools supports students being active and healthy. Kid-powered transportation is a great way for students to get some fresh air and exercise on their way to and from their neighbourhood school. Students may choose to walk, jog, ride their bikes, rollerblade, etc. You can also organize a walking school bus, where students walk along a predetermined route at predetermined times. Students wait for the walking school bus to come by their location and join the group walking to school, which increases safety and interactions.
